Brush Creek Ranch: Staddle Camp

Enhancing Student Interest & Confidence in Science

Brush Creek Ranch Staddle Camp is a science enrichment program founded in 2011 in partnership with the Big Shoulders Fund, a non-profit organization based in Chicago, IL that provides support to Catholic schools in the neediest areas of inner-city Chicago. Through scholarships, academic enrichment programs, facility improvements, faculty support, and operating grants, the Big Shoulders Fund serves nearly 24,000 inner-city children.

At Brush Creek Ranch Staddle Camp, middle school students spend five days at Brush Creek Ranch participating in hands-on academic sessions focused on conservation, water quality, the food cycle, native animals, and more. These sessions include partnerships with local Saratoga, WY education and resource services. In addition to academic sessions, students are given the opportunity to participate in ranch activities such as horseback riding, mountain biking, hiking, ropes courses, and fly fishing.
