Our Fishing Waters
Our Blue-Ribbon freestone fly-fishing destination provides some of the healthiest trout ecosystems in the world. Prolific insect hatches throughout the year and thousands of trout per river mile make this a destination fishery for any serious angler. You will also enjoy a spectrum of stunning Wyoming landscapes. From steep rocky canyons to flat rolling sagebrush hills, and everything in between, even the most traveled guests seldom get to experience such variety of landscape and fishing scenario within a small watershed.
All About Trout
Rainbow and brown as the two most common catches, and are usually caught in about the same numbers and ratio. Certain areas can be more prolific with one or the other species, but it’s usually a relatively even split. On occasion you’ll find a rogue brook trout or cutthroat trout, but they’re not super prevalent within our fisheries. Your “average” North Platte River trout is usually a very healthy 12-16 inches with each summer, always bringing a handful of trophy trout over two feet long. The ecosystems of the North Platte River, the Encampment River, and their major tributaries are so healthy and have such an abundance of food that these trout grow large relatively quickly.

Arrival Day
Indulge in a gourmet, farm-to-table lunch and an activity of your choice on your day of arrival. Your room will be ready no later than our check-in time at 4:00 pm.
Fishing Days
After a hearty ranch-style breakfast, you head out to our private trout-rich waters. The setting is pure luxury meets rugged beauty: impressive rock outcroppings and crystal-clear water glinting in the morning sun.

Your guide, an Orvis-endorsed expert, outfits you with premium gear and shares insider tips on reading the current and spotting rainbow and brown trout. Wading into the creek, you feel the cool rush of water against your boots as you cast toward a shaded bend where trout often linger. The rhythmic motion of fly casting becomes meditative, broken only by the thrill of a strike and the flash of a fish beneath the surface.

Midday, you pause for a gourmet lunch sourced from The Farm’s freshest ingredients and maybe a cold beer, glass of wine, or our personal favorite–award-winning spirits from Brush Creek Distillery. Afterward, you return to the water for an afternoon of fishing, perhaps trying dry flies as the hatch begins. The day winds down with golden light spilling across the valley, and you head back to the lodge for a fireside cocktail and stories of the day’s catches.
Departure Day
Enjoy a final gourmet breakfast and the peaceful scenery until your departure. Check-out time is 9:00 am, when we politely ask guests to have their luggage ready for pickup and depart their rooms.
